Tēnā Koe Greetings, the OMHST (Otago Mental Health Support Trust) is looking for Board members who share our vision of supporting and promoting peer-led mental wellbeing in a Te Tiriti o Waitangi-based Aotearoa.

The mental health and addiction challenges experienced across our diverse communities and whānau affect both Tākata Whenua and Tauiwi populations deeply, reflecting the enduring impact of colonisation. While Māori face particularly severe and devastating effects, Tauiwi also endure significant suffering. These challenges reverberate throughout society, impacting us all. The OMHST plays a crucial role by offering essential, trustworthy, peer-led support aimed at empowering our communities to awhi one another. We operate on the belief that with collective effort, mental health and addiction challenges can be overcome.

To ensure that our accomplishments are driven by a deep understanding of our organisation’s work, it is important that our Board members have lived experience, empathy and a vision for a much healthier, just and peaceful Aotearoa New Zealand.

Therefore, our mission is to persistently pursue our goal of equity for all members of our community, providing quality support to those who are most in need. We welcome expressions of interest from individuals eager to contribute their valuable skills, experiences, and vision to this vital role.
